Plans and Limits

What each plan allows: requests per minute, history depth, page size and concurrent streams, and what happens at each bound.

Prices are in US dollars, excluding VAT where it applies. Plans are paid by card through Stripe, monthly or yearly; the yearly price is ten months of the monthly one. Subscribe on cantoncap.cc/api, and manage or cancel the subscription in the customer portal linked from your account. A cancelled plan stays active to the end of the paid period. Enterprise bounds and terms are agreed by email: api@cantoncap.cc.

What Each Bound Means

Requests per Minute

Every request to /v1 counts, including a 304 Not Modified and a rejected one, and so does each WebSocket connection. The window is a fixed minute per key, shared by every server, and every response reports where you stand in it. Going over answers 429 rate_limited. See Rate limits.

History Depth

How far back one request may reach, counted from now. It applies to the history endpoints: historical quotes, asset and market candles, the market chart, supply history, market trades and activity history. A time_start older than the plan allows, or a range longer than it, answers 403 quota_exceeded with the message The requested history exceeds the API plan limit. Independently of the plan, each history request spans at most 31 days, and the public candle sources retain 31 days.

Page Size

The largest limit you may ask for on a paginated endpoint. Asking for more answers 403 quota_exceeded with The requested page exceeds the API plan limit. When you leave limit out and the endpoint's default is larger than your plan's page size, the API uses your page size instead of refusing. Some endpoints have a lower ceiling of their own, such as 100 for market pairs and venue markets; the reference lists each one.

Concurrent Streams

How many WebSocket connections the key may hold open at once. One connection carries many subscriptions (up to 100 by default). Opening one more than the plan allows is refused with a retryable quota_exceeded stream error. See Streaming.

One Key, One Plan
The bounds belong to the key, not to your account. A key reports nothing about its own plan in its responses except the rate window; your plan's bounds are shown under Account, API keys.

Changing Plans

To move between Developer and Pro, write to api@cantoncap.cc. New bounds take effect when the key is updated on the API, usually within one business day; until then the key keeps its current bounds.
